WHAT IT IS: Bringing a punk attitude back to pop, Taylor Upsahl, better known as UPSAHL, combines magnetism, musical chops and star power. The Phoenix-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist started writing and releasing music at 17 and received critical acclaim on her debut EP, Hindsight 20/20, last year, alongside a series of buzzing singles like “Drugs,” which hit Spotify’s Global Viral chart. After spending much of 2019 touring with PVRIS, Joywave, Max Frost and more, UPSAHL has been named a YouTube Artist on the Rise. WHAT IT IS: Writing and producing all of his music in a self-built studio in L.A., Chicago native Alexander Glantz, professionally known as Alexander 23, launched his solo career in 2019 with the release of his debut single, “Dirty AF1s.” Following a steady stream of releases, Alexander shared his critically acclaimed EP, I’m Sorry I Love You, toured with Alec Benjamin, Omar Apollo and mxmtoon, and played Lollapalooza. Hamilton Leithauser (Glassnote)

WHAT IT IS: Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Hamilton Leithauser has spent much of his life surrounded by music. Previously a member of The Recoys and indie rock band The Walkmen, with whom he recorded seven albums, Leithauser dropped his debut solo album, Black Hours, in 2014. His latest LP, The Loves of Your Life, is a collection of stories about real people he’s met over his years living in NYC. Written and produced over the past three years in his home studio, The Struggle Hut, the new album bridges the old and new in a nostalgic way. It’s Leihauser’s first project since 2016’s critically acclaimed I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, created with Rostam Batmanglij, formerly of Vampire Weekend.
