Luke Combs, Eric Church and James Taylor's "Concert for Carolina" raised a whopping $24.5m on Saturday (10/26) for those impacted by Hurricane Helene flooding in North Carolina.
The artists, who all spent formative time living and honing their musical craft in the state, were joined by Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman, The Avett Brothers, Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, Parmalee and Wesko. The event drew 82,193 to Bank of America Stadium, a concert record for the Charlotte venue.
Proceeds will aid relief efforts undertaken by such do-gooders as Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. In addition to his in-kind donation, Church will contribute through his Chief Cares Foundation.
Further fundraising is underway via a silent auction featuring the (autographed) guitar Combs used and the shirt he wore during the show, a meet-and-greet with Church at an upcoming concert, signed NFL, NBA, NCAA and NASCAR gear, autographed instruments and a variety of concert and game tickets.
