SWIFT, SZA LEAD MTV VMA NOMINATIONS

Taylor Swift's sizzling summer continues with a boatload of MTV VMA nods.

The nominations unveiled Tuesday (8/8) found Swift leading the pack with eight and SZA following closely behind with six. Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith and Kim Petras each grabbed five.

Additional nominees include Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, Shakira, BLACKPINK, Adele, ROSALÍA, blink-182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Karol G, Fall Out Boy (two noms), TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Metallica. Beyoncé is up for Artist of the Year, her sole nomination (she didn't release any videos related to her RENAISSANCE album).

There are also 35 first-timers, including Reneé Rapp, boygenius, GloRilla, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress and Peso Pluma.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place 9/12 at the Prudential Center in Newark. A full list of nominees can be had here. Once again, we were informed in no uncertain terms that we cannot come within 100 yards of the venue.
