The MTV VMAs are returning to Newark's Prudential Center. Airing live on 9/12, this will be the second year in a row the show has been hosted at the venue and the third time in the last five years.
“Celebrating one of our biggest nights in music with the Garden State’s incredible fans has been our goal since last year’s highly successful event,” said Bruce Gillmer, Paramount president of Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events and chief content officer, Music, Paramount+.
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be broadcast to 150+ countries, is expected to reach 319m households. Last year's three-hour-plus event—co-hosted by Video Vanguard recipient Nicki Minaj—averaged 3.9m total viewers, up 3% (3.7m) over 2021's figure.
