HOW MIGHT L.A. FIRES AFFECT GRAMMY?

With the wildfires having taken a devastating toll on Southern California—destroying thousands of homes (including those of many in the biz) and businesses and casting a pall of toxic smoke over the region—many industry people are wondering how this disaster will affect awards season, notably the Grammys, scheduled for 2/2.

Word has it that preliminary discussions among Recording Academy execs, show producers and others as to how to address the issue are likely to begin in earnest next week, but that for now the focus is on getting help to those in need as the crisis continues. MusiCares and the Academy have already pledged $1m in fire relief.

How might Team Grammy pivot once the flames are finally knocked down? We shall see.
