Ron Perry’s Columbia is at it again. The label’s newest breakout is StaySolidRocky, whose playful hip-hop track “Party Girl” is Top 15 at Spotify U.S., Top 20 at Apple Music, Top 3 at SoundCloud (where it first gained momentum) and has seen 1.9m videos created at TikTok. About a million of those came in the last two weeks. “Party Girl” is breaking quickly at Rhythm radio. The video, which appears below, has racked up 9.5m+ views.
The 19-year-old, Virginia-bred artist, born Darak Figeroua, inked with Columbia earlier this year and is already a rocketship—one of the fastest-moving artists to date. The label can now add Rocky to its stable of young successes, which includes smash acts Lil Nas X, Arizona Zervas (about 418m+ U.S. audio streams to date for "Roxanne") and Powfu (110m+ U.S. for "coffee for your head") as well as burgeoning streamer Polo G, among others. Who’s next?
