Crush Music's Weezer has dropped yet another album called Weezer, though this one is known colloquially as The Black Album. The hotly anticipated set of originals comes on the heels of the successful covers set, Weezer (aka The Teal Album), which blew up thanks to the band's left-field smash version of Toto's "Africa."
You can check out videos for two tracks from the new set (which was produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio) below.
We'll have early reads on the album's performance in the marketplace in the coming days. In the meantime, we note that the L.A. alternative heroes have been in promo overdrive. That means a Good Morning America stop, Fallon fun, SiriusXM, iHeart and who knows what all else. Look outside; the odds are pretty good that they'll be stopping by your house.
Weezer will once again hit the road with fellow Modern Rock icons The Pixies. starting on 3/8, picking up the thread from last year's dream-fulfilling dates (look for a big ol' hootenanny at Madison Square Garden on 3/12).
Meanwhile, Dan Kruchkow looks just like Buddy Holly.
