WHAT IT IS: British-German DJ and production duo Matt James and Frank Sanders are the masterminds behind M-22. Writing and producing their tracks themselves, the partners pride themselves on their ability to create entirely organic products from start to finish. With their 2015 debut, “First Time,” reaching #6 on the U.K. club charts and follow-up “Somewhere New” with Klingande achieving multiple gold and platinum certifications, M-22 have burst into the dance scene with deep, trendy and head-bopping tunes. WHAT IT IS: The musical endeavor of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Davis, BAD VEINS has been rising on the music radar since the mid-2000s. What began as an indie power-pop project best described as an opulent hodgepodge of sounds and aesthetics, the Cincinnati-based artist received the Target Music Maker award for Best Emerging Artist at the Tribeca Film Festival and the CMJ Breakout Act award before taking an extended hiatus from touring and releasing his eponymous debut LP and follow up, The Mess Remade. WHAT IT IS: Over the last few years, pop-rock band DREAMERS have gone from playing tiny bars to arenas and festivals like Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot and Firefly. The aptly named group formed in Brooklyn before decamping to the West Coast.
