Berlin-based artist/producer Mogul has released his first original single of the year, “Good Company.” Arriving via SideKick Music on 6/12, the track features vocals from BVRGE. With stay-at-home orders in effect, the collaboration took place through online exchanges. “Good Company” pays homage to women who help maneuver their partners out of dark phases—a love story wrapped into an energetic production.
Known for his 2016 collaboration with French producer Mokoa for their Amy Winehouse remix of “Stronger Than Me,” Mogul is no stranger when it comes to working with other producers. “Good Company” marks the first of many releases coming in 2020. Until then, stream the single below.
Platinum-selling artist Ben Haenow has released a new single, “If You’re Lonely.” Promoting mental health, proceeds from the track will be donated to the U.K. charity Mind. Through emotion evoking lyrics, the singer/songwriter reaches out a hand to anyone who may be struggling during this time. Explaining the inspiration for “If You’re Lonely,” Haenow says, “I think that admitting you have suffered with your own mental health issues is essentially just admitting to being human.”
Known globally for winning The X Factor in 2014, Haenow quickly rose to prominence with his debut self-titled album. 2020 is proving to be yet another successful year for Haenow, who recently performed at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall in March.
“If You’re Lonely” is available now and can be streamed below.
Ian Johnson, a.k.a. Arrested Youth, has put together a one-of-a-kind EP entitled Arrested Youth & The Quarantiners, the first fan co-written project. As the COVID-19 stay at home orders went into effect, Johnson wanted to find a unique way to interact and reach out to his fans. This sparked the start of his Quarantine Sessions, an open opportunity for fans across the world to come together and write songs.
Starting each session by producing a rough demo of music, Johnson worked with fans via Instagram and YouTube livestreams to create song concepts along with lyrics. The singer/songwriter would then create vocal melodies and put finishing production edits with his friend and producer, Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft.
Arrested Youth has built a cult following through his mix of alternative and hip-hop styles. Since releasing his debut album FEAR in late 2018, he’s amassed over 40m streams and locked in tour support for artists such as Yungblug, DREAMERS and The Mowgli’s.
