Grammy-winning industry vet Vicky Hamilton just established herself in the poetry realm with the release of Veiled Allusions, which Ingram Spark published on 11/21 and launched at a Foxes magazine-sponsored party at Desert 5 Spot.
Hamilton’s resume includes stands at Geffen and Vapor, as well as her own Small Hairy Dog imprint, which earned a 2000 Grammy for Best Traditional Folk album for June Carter Cash’s Press On. She says the 50 poems in Veiled Allusions were written over the course of decades, capturing, as she put it, “me at 15 through me at 66.”
She added, “Poetry was my first love. I started writing poetry in junior high school and continue to write poems today. I tried to pick the best poetry I had written over my lifetime for this book and included a few of my early poems to show my growth.”
Electric Panda recently optioned Hamilton’s first book, Appetite for Dysfunction, for a TV adaptation.
