COOKIEE'S VIBIN' NEW VIDEO
8/11/20

New Jersey native Cookiee Kawaii has dropped the music video for “Vibe (If I Back It Up).” Released via The Cookiee Jar/EMPIRE, the track reached viral status on TikTok and has seen over 2m in activity on the platform as well as amassing over 56m streams on Spotify alone. It’s also garnered praise from the likes of Doja Cat, Perez Hilton and James Charles.

In the eye-catching video, crows, a marching band, cowboys, cowgirls, aliens, ninjas and more are packed into the 1:26 second video, including Kawaii appearing as a 6-legged spider-y creature.

Cultivating her taste for music at a young age, Kawaii was born to parents who were both DJs. “This is a time where we could get a little more spotlight on the culture,” says Kawaii. “We’ve had a lot of different moments where things have kind of been on the spotlight for us but no one was really there to full force carry the torch. So I feel like this could open a lot of doors for Jersey, and Jersey Club, in total.”
