WHAT IT IS: A promising young voice from Atlanta, 21-year-old Slimelife Shawty has found success with his Southern-twanged, pain-stained lyrics, paired with melodic undertones. Shawty took 2018 by storm with co-signs from the likes of Young Thug, YNW JGreen and more after he assisted Lil Keed’s “Blicky Blicky,” which exploded in the Atlanta streets and drew attention to the up-and-comer. The Following year, he dropped his EP, 100 Reasons, containing standout tracks like “Bankroll” and 40 Bars,” as well as follow-up album No Slime Left Behind. Shawty continues his
ascent with his forthcoming project, Better Living, due sometime this year.
