CLICKNCLEAR DESERVES A CHEER
1/16/19

ClicknClear, a music licensing platform that provides fully licensed tracks for performance sports like cheerleading, figure skating, dance, gymnastics and more, is officially the first ever approved music vendor of the International Cheer Union (ICU). In a step towards connecting music rights holders with an additional $1b, ClicknClear offers the specific rights needed to commercially released tracks for performance sport mixes, including adaption and choreography, from both the master and publishing sides. Working with hundreds of rights holders like BMG, UMG, and Warner Music, ClicknClear adds a unique value to the previously untapped market for pre-cleared, sports-tailored licenses.

ClicknClear CEO Chantal Epp says, “Gaining official recognition from the ICU is an important milestone in our first target sport, and will greatly help our discussions around enforcement for our music industry rights holders with cheerleading’s national governing bodies worldwide, and other strategic partners.” Laura Willoughby, Creative Sync Manager from Warner Music adds, “ClicknClear looks to provide a value-added, specifically-targeted channel for artists and publishers to reach the new revenue stream opportunity presented by performance sports.” While cheerleading is the company’s beta market, ClicknClear has plans to launch in other sports this year.
