SWEET START: SABRINA SOARS

Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet (Island) blasts off with a sure shot to earn the artist her first #1 on next week's HITS Top 50. The 12-track release is on target to open with 280-310k. Could it be bigger? First-week U.S. audio streams are expected to land in the 200m range.

New single "Taste" and "Please Please Please" are #1 and #2, respectively, at Spotify U.S., with "Espresso" #4, "Good Graces" #8, "Bed Chem" #10 and several other album tracks in the Top 20. At Spotify global, "Please," "Espresso" and "Taste" are bunched together in the 4-6 slots.

Over at Apple Music's overall Top Songs tally, "Taste," "Please" and "Espresso" are #1-3, while "Good Graces" and "Bed Chem" are #8 and #10 faster than you can say "DSP domination!"

Chart projections for Travis Scott, Lainey Wilson and others will be available today (8/26).

Now, if you'll excuse us, it's time to lock in for fantasy football drafts while reflecting on the vagaries of modern romance.
