Downtown-owned CD Baby welcomes Faryal Khan-Thompson as SVP, Marketing and Community Engagement.
Having spent 15 years at Tunecore as its VP international, Khan-Thompson brings her wealth of knowledge to the distributor’s scaling operations and product localization in more than 30 markets. She'll report to CD Baby Chief Revenue Officer Christine Barnum.
"CD Baby has always been creator-first, and by aligning our growth with that of our diverse roster of artists, we succeed when they do," said CD Baby President Scott Williams. "We’re proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary alongside more than a million artists who work with us, and I'm confident Faryal's leadership and vision will play a pivotal role in CD Baby’s continued success."
In addition to her new duties, Khan-Thompson, who in March was named 2023's International Lead of the Year by Women in Music Canada, will remain an adviser to the nonprofit Black Lives in Music.
