CASA SPOTIFY HIGHLIGHTS PUERTO RICO WITH RESIDENCY

Casa Spotify is honoring Puerto Rico, the birthplace of reggaeton and stars like Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee, with a weeklong residency beginning today (6/20) in San Juan.

In 2022 five of the top 10 Latin artists on Spotify were from Puerto Rico. As part of the streamer's commitment to elevate Puerto Rican artists, Casa Spotify: Puerto Rico will offer a range of educational sessions for artists and aspiring creatives, workshops, master classes, panel discussions, networking opportunities, showcases and a state-of-the-art interactive museum experience that dives into the history of reggaeton and explores how the island came to be known as "La Cuna del Reggaeton." The residency will close with a surprise performance by a legendary Puerto Rican artist.

Said Spotify Head of U.S. Latin, Artist Partnerships Eddie Santiago, “Puerto Rico has long been at the forefront of Latin music. With Casa Spotify: Puerto Rico coming to the island, we're providing educational tools, networking opportunities and experiences to local creators that will help cultivate the next generation of emerging talent."

Among the activities taking place in San Juan at Galeria PDT and Ocio in Puerta de Tierra:

El Nuevo Urbano: This showcase highlights some of PR’s strongest emerging talents, among them Jovaan, vf7 and Hades66, with a special appearance by Arcángel.

Mujeres en Música/Women in Music: RaiNao, Ana Macho and Chesca will perform in celebration of women and LGBTQ+ artists.

Sonidos de la Isla: Following a panel discussion on the various sounds coming out of PR, iLe, Luis Vazquez and Buscabulla will perform.

Rompiendo Puerto Rico: A celebration of urban artists, with performances by Brray, Dei V and Hozwal

Fan Experiences: Fans of Chencho Corleone, Young Miko and Arcángel will be invited to participate in exclusive experiences throughout the week.

Written by Live: Chris Jedi & Gaby Music: Two of the most prolific producers in Latin music will lead this panel, where they will give a live audience insight into the hit songs they helped create. Attendees will hear early demos of those hits and find out what it takes to attain success as a songwriter.
