Tim Plumley has been promoted to VP, Media and Artist Relations, at Universal Music Group’s catalog label, UMe.
Plumley strategizes and implements 360-degree catalog media campaigns for a diverse roster of artists. He recently led the publicity campaign for Louis Armstrong’s first-ever Christmas album, Louis Wishes You a Cool Yule, and has been a key player in campaigns for George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, Frank Zappa, The Beach Boys and The Band.
“Tim is a key member of my communications team, where he continues to develop innovative new ways to promote our artists and their projects across a wide range of media outlets, including the unenviable task of connecting with HITS editors,” said his boss, Sujata Murthy, UMe EVP of Media and Artist Relations. “Tim not only has the trust and respect of our executives and members of the press, but crucially he is viewed as a true partner by our artists and their management teams.”
Plumley joined UMe in 2016 as director and was promoted to senior director in 2020. Prior to UMe, he oversaw the publicity department at New West Records.
