Bad Bunny continues his dominant 2022 as Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) logs its 10th week at #1 on the HITS Top 50—surpassing Disney’s Encanto soundtrack for the most chart-topping weeks this year.
In its 18th week of release, Bunny’s Un Verano moved 100k units for 2.3m in total activity, making it the biggest non-English-language album in U.S. history. Linda Ronstadt’s 1987 Canciones de Mi Padre (Asylum/Rhino) held the title for more than three decades—the mariachi album was certified double platinum by the RIAA last November.
Verano is currently tracking to be the biggest album of the year, on pace for 3m+.
Big Loud/Mercury’s Morgan Wallen moves to #2, followed by last week’s chart-topper, DJ Khaled’s GOD DID (We the Best/Epic).
UMe’s Megadeth scores the top debut with The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! The band’s first studio album in six years opens at #4 with 43k. Sony Latin’s king of bachata, Romeo Santos, scores a Top 10 bow with Formula, Vol. 3.
Streeting this week are new titles from Epic’s Ozzy Osbourne, Field Trip/Geffen’s Yeat, Dreamville/Interscope’s Ari Lennox, XO/Republic’s NAV, RCA Nashville’s Kane Brown, Republic’s John Legend, Warner Nashville’s BRELAND and 88rising/ Warner’s Jackson Wang.
Congrats on surviving the heat wave—you’ve now entered hurricane season.
