AUDIOMACK ADDS SPOTIFY'S SURI

Global DSP Audiomack has brought in Himanshu Suri from Spotify to drive growth in emerging markets.

In the newly created role of Director of Marketing and South Asian Music Strategy, the former Global Lead of Indian Music and Culture at Spotify will look to replicate in other emerging markets what the streamer has done in Africa.

“As someone who has fostered regional artists and fan growth at a DSP, in addition to his experience as a successful independent artist, Himanshu perfectly aligns with Audiomack’s ethos of putting artists first and moving music forward,” Audiomack Co-Founder and CMO David Ponte said.

Suri, aka Heems, was a founding member of the Brooklyn hip-hop trio Das Racist, which had an early viral hit, “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell,” in 2010. The song reemerged as a sensation on TikTok last year.

Artists upload material for free to Audiomack’s 5m daily users. The DSP has also found success promoting new songs by established artists such as Eminem, who used Audiomack exclusively to launch his 2020 single “Killshot.”
