Streaming platform Audiomack announced on Tuesday that it has secured licensing agreements with UMG and Sony Music. Having struck a deal with WMG in 2019, Audiomack now has licensing deals in place with all three major label groups.
Enjoying more than 17m monthly listeners, Audiomack was founded by Dave Macli and David Ponte in 2012. It was launched with a focus on mixtape culture. The app has since amassed a loyal global following, ranking in January as the #1 Music iOS music app in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya and Senegal.
The streaming platform also announced in January 2021 that beginning with the tracking week of 1/22-1/28, Audiomack data and streams would be factored into MRC/Billboard's U.S. and global charts.
"Audiomack serves a unique listener base that is distinct from the audiences found on competing platforms,” said Vanessa Wilkins, Audiomack’s Director of Music & Data Partnerships. “In contributing to Billboard's charts, Audiomack will now certify the achievements of countless artists whose previous success has never been represented fairly and accurately."
