KANYE'S RAP OPERA AND DRE COLLAB

Kanye West raised eyebrows this week on two fronts.

First he announced his biblical rap opera Nebuchadnezzar, debuting this Sunday 11/24 at the Hollywood Bowl, directed by frequent visual collaborator Vanessa Beecroft. Tix avail here.

The name "Nebuchadnezzar" refers to a king of Babylon who was famously driven insane for seven years in the book of Daniel, as he refused to acknowledge that his power, wealth and influence were from God and not of his own making.

West said "I know that God's been calling me for a long time and the devil's been distracting me for a long time. Jesus has won the victory. I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him."

Then on 11/18 Kanye tweeted that "Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon," which looks to be a collaboration on a new album with none other than Dr. Dre.

When reached for comment while vacationing on David Geffen’s mega-yacht, God replied “Who is this Kanye West fellow I keep hearing about?”
