ONE PERFECT CHART STORY

UMe's Pitch Perfect 2 ST Sees #1 Bow

The highly anticipated sequel to Pitch Perfect hit theaters this weekend and UMe’s corresponding soundtrack sang itself all the way to the top of both the HITS Building Album Sales Chart – with 91k – and the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart – with 108k.

UMe chief Bruce Resnikoff is singing an ’80s medley in triumph.

The film earned $70m in its first weekend at the box office, making it the #1 movie in America this week and crushing its predecessor's opening weekend by $65m. It's also already surpassed the first film's total gross to date.

Mumford & Sons' Wilder Mind stays wild at #2, earning another 50k for Glassnote.

Island's Incubus enjoys a Top 3 debut for their new EP, Trust Fall (Side A), snagging 38k.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg's BUSH (iamOTHER/Columbia) entered at #9 with 24k. It has yet to be confirmed if rock band BUSH will release a forthcoming album entitled Snoop Dogg.

Thanks to a 99-cent sale at Google, David Guetta's Listen (Parlophone) re-enters the chart with a 1,715% bump, raking in another 29k.

A gigantic hit single and a memorable appearance on American Idol's season finale, meanwhile, fuel the #34-17 move by S-Curve's Andy Grammer at SPS, earning him another 24k (+63%).

Speaking of sales success powered by smash singles, RCA's Walk the Moon climb to #18 at SPS, earning another 23k, even though it no longer places in the Top 50 for album sales alone.

Streeting this week are albums from Fueled By Ramen's Twenty One Pilots, RCA's Jamie Foxx, Epic's Mariah Carey, Interscope's Zedd and Island's Brandon Flowers.

In other news, Jeb Bush would like a mulligan on the whole "Would I have gone into Iraq?" thing, if that's cool.
