On the heels of super-hot momentum around the release of his new album DS2, Freebandz/Epic rap hook king Future becomes this week’s Most Added record at Rhythm with “Where Ya At” f/ Drake. Meanwhile XO/Republic is building close behind with The Weeknd's “The Hills." Nico & Vinz' acoustic jam “That’s How You Know” (Warner Bros.) has a strong kickoff week, and Def Jam scores with Big Sean's “One Man Can Change The World” (G.O.O.D.), YG's “Twist My Fingaz” and Alessia Cara's “Here”, as all three label mates grab over 5 new stations.
Wolfpack/Interscope pop chanteuse and Kylie Kardashian bestie Pia Mia recently took fans on an exclusive peek behind the scenes on the video set for her new single, "Do It Again" featuring Chris Brown & Tyga. The song is currently sitting at #21 on the Rhythmic airplay chart, and Top 10 at iTunes Australia, and launches in the U.K. in mid-August. Pia—a native of Guam—is completely in her element here: Life's a beach!
New releases this week include the first single and ONLY collabo-- featuring Drizzy Drake-- on Future‘s new album Dirty Sprite 2 which dropped today, and OVO/XO's golden child Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd, who earlier this week became the first artist in history to own the Top 3 spots on the Hot R&B songs chart.
Future feat. Drake, "Where Ya At" (Epic)
The Weeknd, "The Hills" (XO/Republic)
We will have a new #1 this week at the Rhythm format, as XO/Republic’s The Weeknd takes no time reaching the pinnacle with his unstoppable smash “Can’t Feel My Face”. Ultra/Columbia’s Omi will leap into the Top 5 with “Cheerleader” with a 500 spin gain. Look for healthy gains from Natalie La Rose's "Around The World" (IMG), The Weeknd’s other heater, “The Hills” (XO) as well as G.O.O.D./Def Jam's Big Sean with “One Man Can Change The World." Warner Bros./Beluga Heights crooner Jason Derulo and Def Jam’s Jeremih will both have triple digit gains on the chart as well.
