THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

As I write this column, Florida is bracing for yet another hurricane. The last one was devastating, and forecasters are now saying this one could be even worse. I’m saying a prayer for everyone in its path and hoping that it doesn’t affect our Florida friends in radio!

In the music world, there wasn’t a whole lot of movement in the Top 10 this week as most of the power rotation records remained where they have been. At Epic, Sackheim and Dontay see 21 Savage x Summer Walker’s “prove it” move to the Top 5, with a goal to reach #1 soon. Future’s “TOO FAST” (Wilburn) gains 740 spins and rockets to #18, while Real Boston Richey’s “Help Me” (Freebandz) holds at #23 and is up 140 spins this week.

Angelo Scrobe and the PULSE/Concord team have Tommy Richman’s “DEVIL IS A LIE” (ISO Supremacy) climbing two spots to #7. The track is up nearly 400 spins again and has proven to be a very solid follow up to “MILLION DOLLAR BABY.”

Dixie Tipton and the ICLG squad continue to control a nice section of real estate on the charts. They’ve got GloRilla’s“TGIF” (CMG/Interscope) sliding up one position to #6 thanks to a 475-spin increase—she’s quickly become a can’t miss for the format—and Moneybagg Yo’s “WHISKEY WHISKEY” f/Morgan Wallen entering the Top 10 this week after an increase of 200 spins. Meanwhile, Hanumankind’s “Big Dawgs” w/Kalmi (Capitol/Def Jam India) ends the week at #24 and is up 110 spins. Shenseea & Wizkid’s “Work Me Out” continues to develop and is now at #34. Quavo & Lenny Kravitz’s “FLY” (QC/Motown) gains 175 spins but just misses a debut this week. Look for this to enter the chart next week. Dixie is also impacting Toosii’s “I Do” f/Muni Long (SCMG/Capitol) this week.

Over at Republic, Davey Dee sees The Weeknd’s “Dancing in the Flames” (XO) add 440 spins to his total and move to #11. The Weeknd’s other record, “Timeless” f/Playboi Carti is off to a huge start as well and debuts at #29 after gaining a whopping 919 spins. The iHeart Rhythm stations put in Sabrina Carpenter’s “Bad Chem” (Island) this past week. The track is already at #59 on the chart but there is no “official” plan to work the record as of now. Davey also has LL LL COOL J’s “Murdergram Deux” f/Eminem building buzz, but there is once again no official word on impacting here.

Over at Arista, Nick P continues to drive Lola Brooke’s “No One Else” (Team 80) toward the Top 25. She ends the week at #28 and adds 275 spins to her total.

Lori G and RCA are getting closer to another Top 10 record for Chris Brown as “Residuals” ends the week at #12 and is up another 425 spins. A$AP Rocky’s “HIGHJACK” enters the Top 15 this week and has yet another triple digit gain. Latto’s “Brokey” comes in at #19 and is up 155 spins.

And Warner’s B Dot Scales officially debut Saweetie’s “Is It the Way” (ICY). She enjoys an increase of 560 spins and ends the week at #36.

The Weeknd’s “Timeless” f/Playboi Carti (XO/Republic)
