YOUR RADIO CHART PREVIEW

The Weeknd's fiery follow-up “The Hills” (XO/Republic) climbs into the Top 5 the same week his new album Beauty Behind The Madness hits, so it's safe to assume the domination is far from over. Interscope’s Selena Gomez will ascend into the Top Ten this week with “Good For You" along with Big Sean's “OMCCTW” (G.O.O.D./Def Jam), while Sean's label mate Jeremih is poised to have a sizable increase with "Planes," putting him inside the Top 15. R. City's “Locked Away” (RCA) is up over 400 spins, while Rita Ora's “Body On Me” f/Chris Brown (Roc Nation/Columbia) will enter the Top 25 after just 2 weeks! After barely missing the chart last week, Nelly's “The Fix” f/Jeremih (RECORDS) will have the highest debut. Post Malone's red hot “White Iverson” (Republic) will also debut this week. The buzz records include Warner Bros.' Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' “Downtown” and of course, Justin Bieber's new Skrillex collabo, “What Do You Mean?” (RBMG/Def Jam).

YOUR RADIO ADD RECAP

Most Added is a tie between Drake's “Hotline Bling” (YMCMB/Republic) and Nelly's “The Fix” f/Jeremih (RECORDS), who scored 13 adds each. Rita Ora's “Body On Me” f/Chris Brown (Roc Nation/Columbia) pulled 10 new stations to become the only other track with double digit commitments this week. Jeremih's “Planes” (Def Jam) continues to close out the last remaining skeptics, while Post Malone's “White Iverson” (Republic), J Cole's “No Role Modelz” (Roc Nation/Columbia), Nicky Jam's “Forgiveness” (Sony Latin/RCA) and R. City's “Locked Away” (Kemosabe) all come in with 5 adds.

THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

What matters is that they got it done—so a hearty congrats goes out to Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia for taking OMI’s “Cheerleader” (Ultra) to #1. It didn’t have its bullet, but gathered enough steam to overtake a spin descent from The Weeknd for a nice victory after a long campaign. With a hot new video that’s getting buzz, Rita Ora f/Chris Brown’s “Body on Me” (Roc Nation) explodes on the chart to debut at #31, gaining 510 spins. Dej Loaf f/Big Sean’s “Back Up” just misses the chart, up 50 spins. J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” (Roc Nation) climbs inside the Top 50 with an increase of 110 spins. Calvin Harris & Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love” continues to really grow at Top 40, making its way to Rhythm in the next few weeks.

Republic’s Gary Spangler, Davey Dee, and Stef Cole have The Weeknd’s “The Hills” (XO) on cruise control, as it swells 815 spins to become the Greatest Gainer again this week and moves up to #6. Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” (Safehouse/Island) sits at #28, up 65 spins. Drake’s “Back To Back” (YMCMB) is developing into a real record, posting up another very impressive week of increases and climbing to #29, while his other single, “Hotline Bling,” jumps #87-57 and gains 110 spins. Neither of these songs have albums attached; they are just random Drake bangers. One week after impact, Post Malone’s “White Iverson” sits at #53, tacking on 240 spins. They are all set to impact Nicki Minaj f/LunchMoney Lewis’ “Trini Dem Girls” (YMCMB) this coming week.

At Def Jam, Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness are anxiously awaiting the imminent arrival of Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean,” which officially drops on Thursday (8/27). They’ve also got G.O.O.D.’s Big Sean up 270 spins with “OMCCTW,” which is now #12. Guys, I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but Jeremih f/J. Cole’s “Planes” is proving to be the real deal. For the past two months I’ve been talking this one up, and in that time it’s flown all the way to #17. This week, it’s up another 350 spins for the biggest increase the song has experienced to date. Don’t sleep! YG’s “Twist My Fingaz” glides up to #32 with a triple-digit increase. Another song I’ve been passionate about for months is Alessia Cara’s “Here,” which debuts at #33 this week, while snagging a cool 250 spin increase.

RCA’s John Strazza, Inca and Lori G take R. City f/Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” (Kemosabe) into the Top 25 this week, up 325 spins. The track continues to Shazam wherever it’s played. It’s moving quickly at Top 40 too. Chris Brown’s “Liquor” climbs to #36 this week, gaining 100 spins, while Pitbull f/Jason Derulo’s “Drive You Crazy” moves to #55, up 95 spins. Team RCA is impacting T-Pain f/Juicy J’s “Make That Shit Work” this week.

Still alive after his giant 40th birthday celebration, Epic’s Sujit Kundu has Future f/Drake’s “Where Ya At” (A1/Freebandz) at #35, up 50 spins. Grand Hustle’s Travi$ Scott is just getting started with “Antidote,” while Meghan Trainor f/John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” moves to #54. Be sure to check out Casey Veggies’ new song, “Wonderful” f/Ty Dolla $.

Squeaking in at #41, Christine Chiappetta and Paula Tuggey at RECORDS barely miss debuting Nelly f/Jeremih’s “The Fix” but post a healthy 340-spin increase, so Nelly is poised to be one of the highest debuting tracks next week.

Lee L’Heureux and Warner Bros. have Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” (Beluga Heights) climbing to #18, while Nico & Vinz’s “That’s How You Know” hits the chart at #40, up 115 spins. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis score the highest debut with “Growing Up” (Macklemore), which features Ed Sheeran; it was up a whopping 400 spins. His official “radio” single drops this Thursday (along with the new Bieber), so the Rhythm panel may be in for some big-ass records!
