Louis Berry (Ministry of Sound)
11/24/16

WHAT IT IS: Berry’s influences range from Tupac to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, right through to electronic music. You can hear a star-quality in his music—that raspy voice with fast-paced beats and melodic bass lines, coupled with incredible storytelling. In the last 18 months, he’s earned 70+ Radio 1 spins, along with R2 spot plays over three set-up tracks, 1.5m Spotify streams and two sold-out U.K. tours. Huge support has come from R1 specialists, with an early Huw Stephens Maida Vale session, plus spins from Annie Mac, Phil Taggart and daytime plays from Greg James and Clara Amfo. Current single “Restless” impacts early Nov. with early accolades from Annie Mac (“Tune of the Week” and “Track of the Day” at R1), Jo Whiley (“Favourite Thing” at R2) and playlists from the likes of Virgin. Inroads to Europe are being made now with festival offers coming in thick and fast, along with radio plays from the likes of 3FM in Holland and Triple J in Australia. Two new exceptional singles are said to be coming in the new year, with a world-class album—produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay) and Steve Fitzmaurice (Sam Smith)—penciled in for June 2017. He’s managed by Tim Smith at CBA Management and booked by Jon Ollier at CAA.
