WHAT IT IS: Her “God Made Girls” was the first debut single in nine years by a female artist to sell 500k+. Her follow-up single “For a Boy” is now available. The vibrant 20-year-old singer/songwriter penned a diverse collection for her Me EP, about which Taste of Country notes, “Fans of every age will find a trio of lyrics to get behind.” Like her musical hero Dolly Parton, she embraces her country roots with pizazz. The Voice Season 2 alum has returned to the show to perform her new music and is featured on coach Blake Shelton’s latest album. She wrote “Always Sing” to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Music in Our Schools Month (March).
