WHAT IT IS: Formed in London, the electro-pop trio consists of bassist Mikey Goldsworthy, keyboard player Emre Turkmen and vocalist Olly Alexander. The band recently released their debut U.S. EP Y&Y and performed their first U.S. show to a sold-out crowd at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade. Their forthcoming West Coast tour has already sold out. They won the BBC’s prestigious Sound of 2015 poll, an annual list that has accurately predicted chart-topping acts since 2003. Their song “King” recently hit #1 on the U.K. charts.
