SoundCloud is going the extra mile for its creators with a new subscription plan simply called Artist.
The program, which affords creators an array of features including ProTools, will be priced at $3.25 a month. It’s intended to bridge the gap between the service’s Basic plan and its Artist Pro package.
Artist will enable users to upload tracks with a total content limit of three hours, distribute two tracks per month to SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok and over 60 other platforms and monetize by collecting 100% of royalties from plays on SoundCloud while getting paid for streams on other platforms as well.
Subscribers will also be able to use SoundCloud’s algorithm to promote tracks and see them amplified on fan-powered playlists like Buzzing to reach new fans, A&Rs and others.
"We believe great music can come from anywhere and shouldn’t be held back by cost or complexity," said Eliah Seton, CEO of SoundCloud. "That’s why we created the Artist plan, to provide emerging musicians with pro-level tools and distribution at an affordable price. As the only creator platform in music that directly connects artists with fans, we’re making it even easier for artists to get heard.”
