WARNER/CHAPPELL CO-WRITES A MULTI-FORMAT CHART SPREE
8/17/17

Warner/Chappell A&R rulers Ryan Press and Katie Vinten and team are celebrating the pubbery’s part in #1 songs at multiple radio formats and iTunes.

At Top 40, the winner is the Shawn Mendes monster “There’s Nothin’ Holding Me Back” (Island) co-written by Scott Harris. DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” (We The Best/Epic), co-penned by W/C writers Partynextdoor and Rihanna, leads at Rhythmic and Urban radio and has traded the top spot at iTunes with Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s moderately successful “Despacito” (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam/Republic), to which W/C tunesmiths Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo contributed.

Portugal. The Man’s powerhouse “Feel It Still” (out via Atlantic and co-written by Zach Carothers & Kyle O’Quin) scaled the Alternative chart, while Imagine Dragons’ “Believer” (on KidInACorner/Interscope and co-crafted by Justin Tranter and Mattman & Robin) leads at Hot AC.

"These chart-topping songs span a variety of genres, which is testament to the diverse talent of the songwriters that call Warner/Chappell home,” said Vinten and Press. "Our top priority is to give them the resources and opportunities that will allow them to thrive, and it’s always rewarding to see the teams’ combined efforts come to fruition in such a big way. And no, we're not interested in a demo of your song 'Trade Rag Blues.'”
