CHART STORY: JAY-Z IS A ROC STAR

Roc Nation’s Jay-Z holds at #1 on this week’s Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart, moving another 92k units. Epic Records, meanwhile, has three of the Top 5 albums, with French Montana’s Jungle Rules (Bad Boy) scoring the biggest bow (52k) at #3. DJ Khaled’s Grateful (We The Best) and 21 Savage’s Issa Album (Slaughter Gang) can be found at #4 and #5 with 48k and 41k, respectively.

Epic's trio also has four of the Top Six on the latest Streaming Songs Chart.

As for the remaining debuts, Parlophone’s Coldplay comes in at #16 with the Kaleidoscope EP, and Razor & Tie’s Kidz Bop 35 appears at #25.

Following a needle-moving performance on the Today Show as part of the Summer Concert Series, Chris Stapleton’s breakout set, Traveller (Mercury Nashville), breaks back into the Top 30.

And as fans mourn the untimely and tragic passing of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the Warner Bros. band’s debut studio album, Hybrid Theory—released in 2000—re-enters the chart at #19. Their most recent full-length, One More Light, also re-enters, but at #30. That said, things look a little different on the Album Sales Chart. There, One More Light slides in at #13, while Hybrid Theory takes #25, and 2003’s Meteora, which houses the acclaimed “Numb,” re-enters at #31.

It’s also worth noting that, on the Album Sales Chart, Kidz Bop is #3 and Coldplay is #4—both with just over 15k.

When it comes to SPS marketshare, UMG leads with 52%, SME is #2 with 31% and WMG follows with 17%.

Streeting this week are albums from Interscope’s Lana Del Rey, Columbia’s Tyler, The Creator and Maybach/Atlantic’s Meek Mill, which could very well end up in a three-way battle for #1. Sony Latin’s Romeo Santos and Columbia’s Foster the People are also expected to make significant entrances.

In other news, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer is now seeking a new gig, so feel free to reach out to him. But he won’t be answering any of your goddamn questions.
