Former NBC Universal Television Chairman Jeff Gaspin has joined Primary Wave Entertainment, filling the newly created position of President, it was just announced. He—based in L.A.—will also serve as a member of the company’s management board. The news follows the independent studio, management, music, production and entertainment media company's recent acquisition of his Gaspin Media.
As President, Gaspin will have a hand in all of the company's business operations, and, more specifically, will spearhead the extension of original content across digital platforms and TV.
Meanwhile, HITS President of Digital Ventures Todd Hensley will continue to spearhead our Friday field trips to Hooters.
“Primary Wave is a talent-centered entertainment company where actors, artists, directors, writers and creative minds can do their best work," said Primary Wave Founders and Co-CEOs David Guillod and Lawrence Mestel in a joint statement. "Jeff is a skilled, innovative leader who will make a powerful impact on our business. As we continue to build momentum across our television and digital portfolios, it has become more important than ever to establish an effective operating structure for Primary Wave. We will continue to grow our executive ranks with key new hires as we pursue an ambitious expansion of our original content slate.”
