ODESZA AND GOLDEN FEATURES TEAM UP FOR BRONSON
5/8/20

Grammy-nominated duo ODESZA and Sydney producer Golden Features have unveiled their latest project BRONSON with the release of their singles, “HEART ATTACK” f/lau.ra and “VAULTS,” out now via Foreign Family Collective and Ninja Tune. The double release serves as a precursor for the trio’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, set for release on 7/17, and has been three years in the making.

Comprised of ODESZA members Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, and Golden Features’ Tom Stell, the trio formed a digital record box of shared sounds sent across time zones and continents through Dropbox and FaceTime before spending a week in Berry, Australia to record the album, which features special guests like Gallant and Totally Enormous Extict Dinosaurs in addition to Ultraísta’s lau.ra.

Offering contrasting sounds, the two new tracks embrace an alternate identity for the trio. Incorporating weightless dreamy soundscapes and airy vocals on “HEART ATTACK,” and distorted basslines and cinematic tones on “VAULTS,” the tracks are indicative of the opposing elements that flow throughout the upcoming 10-track album.

With combined streaming numbers in the billions and multiple gold and platinum singles and albums between the three, they’ve collectively remixed and collaborated with an array of artists including Sia, Leon Bridges, Regina Spektor, Katy Perry, Charli XCX and more. BRONSON is available now for pre-order and pre-save digitally, and you can also pre-order the physical LP here. In the meantime, checkout “HEART ATTACK” and “VAULTS” here.

DETROIT DREAMS ROCKING DEBUT
5/8/20

Rock band DETROIT DREAMERS have made their debut on Cherrytree Records with their self-titled EP. Consisting of childhood friends Martin Kierszenbaum, founder of Cherrytree Music Company, and Grammy-winning engineer Tony Lake, the band’s sound is influenced by local Detroit rock groups like MC5, The Stooges and Brownsville Station.

Filled with electrifying elements and a raw energy, the EP is inspired by the rhythm of a city rich in strength and innovation. “The people of Detroit have an independent spirit and a work ethic that’s allowed them to persevere despite obstacles. It’s a community that I’m proud to be from,” shares Lake.

After moving to California to pursue their musical journey, Kierszenbaum began working with artists like Soundgarden and Marilyn Manson, eventually leading him to write and produce for the likes of Sting, Lady Gaga and Mylène Farmer before launching Cherrytree Music Company. Lake also found success in the industry and became an accomplished engineer/mixer, winning a Grammy for his work on Sting and Shaggy’s album 44/876.

With the release of the 5-track EP DETROIT DREAMERS, Kierszenbaum shares, “We’ve been wanting to get these songs off our chest for a while now. The album Is a collection of snapshots of our journey and pride for where we got our start.” Check out their debut EP below.
