WHAT IT IS: Cecilia Castleman’s self-titled debut album arrives on 1/24, the day before her 24th birthday. Recorded at L.A.’s famed Henson Recording Studios and produced by Don Was, the six-time Grammy winner behind Bonnie Raitt’s Nick of Time, the album also features performances by Abe Laboriel Jr, Pino Palladino and Benmont Tench. She recently dropped an alternate, stripped-down version of her single “Looking for June,” highlighting her guitar-playing prowess and haunting vocals.
