WHAT IT IS: A songwriting prodigy, 21-year-old Nashville native Conner Smith signed to BMI at the age of nine and inked his first publishing deal at 16. From capturing the innocence of young love in “Take It Slow” to embracing the old-school lyric twist in his single “Learn From It”—which just made its debut at Country radio—this up-and-comer exudes confidence. Smith has collaborated with an array of writers, including Zach Crowell and Ashely Gorley. His latest offering, “I Hate Alabama,” which plays on the country crooner’s hate for the Crimson Tide football team, has quickly gone viral on TikTok.
