JOY OLADOKUN RETURNS
4/30/21

Rising singer/songwriter Joy Oladokun has unveiled her latest single, “sorry isn’t good enough.”

Featured on her forthcoming major label debut album, the powerful track marks Oladokun’s first release since inking a joint partnership with Amigo Records, Verve Forecast and Republic.

Earlier this year, Oladokun shared two additional album tracks, “jordan” and “wish you the best” f/Jensen McRae. The singles build on her 2020 release, in defense of my own happiness (the beginnings), as well as her breakthrough single, “breathe again,” which she performed on NBC’s Today and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The single rocketed to #3 on Shazam’s U.S. Top 200 while charting globally after a sync on NBC’s This Is Us. She also hit the Top 5 of Shazam’s Discovery chart twice in one month and has seen placements on shows like ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, Showtime’s The L Word and MTV’s Catfish.

Blending contemporary folk, R&B and pop, the Arizona-born and Nashville-based Oladokun shares her perspective living as a Black queer woman and a first-generation child of Nigerian immigrants through her music.

Part of YouTube Music’s Black Voices Class of 2021, Spotify’s RADAR U.S. program, NPR Music/Slingshot and Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch lists and more, Oladokun was recently highlighted in Hulu’s Your Attention Please: The Concert alongside artists like 24kGoldn, Kiana Ledé, Lil Yachty and Swae Lee.
