WHAT IT IS: Born in London, and of Scottish and Irish heritage, this Alternative songstress spent her formative years growing up in Japan and Hong Kong. Her music transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending elements of folk, pop and electronic music into a wholly unique sound. Her debut track, “Wild Horses,” reached #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts and earned airplay on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, as well as prized spots in Acura’s 2016 TLX and ESPN’s NFL Playoffs ads. Following up on the viral success of “Wild Horses,” Bishop Briggs returns with “River,” a searing and cathartic track that has already reached 4m+ Global Spotify Streams, and 34,000+ downloads with significant increases in early airplay markets.
