WHAT IT IS: The L.A.-based singer/songwriter and former lead singer of the 2AM Club has recently penned songs for Prince Royce, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, G-Eazy, Pia Mia, Wiz Khalifa and 2 Chainz. In early 2015, he honed his own sound while working on his East Hollywood EP with co-producer Count Bassy. The five-song set cumulatively amassed 1m Soundcloud plays (and counting) over the course of the summer and caught the attention of The Roots drummer Questlove, who personally requested that he perform at his annual Roots Picnic outdoor festival. Bassy’s now working on his debut album, slated to release later this year.
