WHAT IT IS: This multitalented 22-year-old is gearing up to launch her Island debut single. She’s spent the last year working on new music while continuing to deliver critically acclaimed performances on TV hits like Fox’s Scream Queens and Grease Live. She previously won awards and acclaim for her starring role in the film Akeelah and the Bee, and for her performance as the title character in Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, as well as for becoming the first black Cinderella on Broadway.
