WHAT IT IS: Daisy the Great is the brainchild of Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker, who first started writing music together in 2016 after meeting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Dugan and Walker make music that spans a multitude of moods, from harmony-laden folk pop to powerhouse indie-rock balladry. The Brooklyn-based duo first made their mark in 2019 with their debut LP, I’m Not Getting Any Taller, and they’ve since dropped an EP as well as a series of singles. Just last month, they teamed up with alt-rock trio AJR for their latest single, “Record Player,” which has gained traction on TikTok, garnering 50m+ views on the sound. With their sophomore album on the way, Daisy the Great is just getting started.
