WARNER AND SONY CANCEL GRAMMY PARTIES

Warner Music Group and Sony Music have canceled their traditional Grammy week events in response to the wildfires that continue to burn across Los Angeles.

Over the weekend, WMG donated $1m to relief efforts via the WMG / Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund. Sony decided on Tuesday that the company would cancel its celebratory efforts to divert funds towards local relief efforts.

These cancelations follow on the heels of similar decisions by Universal Music Group, which has opted to pull the plug on its annual Grammy showcase and after-party, and the Resonator Awards, which will not go forward with its annual celebration of female producers and engineers.
