Kendrick Lamar's surprise album GNX (pgLang/Interscope) dropped out of nowhere Friday (11/22) and quickly dominated DSPs.
At Apple Music, its 12 songs occupy the Top 12 spots, with "squabble up" at #1. The track, which samples Debbie Deb's 1984 hit "Lookout Weekend," is also #1 at Spotify U.S., followed by "luther" f/SZA at #2 and "tv off" f/Lefty Gunplay at #3.
The follow-up to 2022's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, GNX is Kendrick's sixth album.
The Compton-raised MC is up for multiple 2025 Grammy Awards, including Song and Record of the Year for his Drake diss "Not Like Us." The accompanying video, directed by pgLang co-founder Dave Free, is up for Best Video.
Next year is, in fact, shaping up to be a big one for K.Dot, who will headline the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show 2/9 in New Orleans. We're taking bets on how many subliminals he'll launch in Drake's direction. Until then, listen to GNX below.
