Although we've established it's not quite Christmas yet, it's not stopping iHeartRadio from getting into the holiday spirit. On Friday (11/15), the company announced its annual holiday flip across more than 85 broadcast stations nationwide as well as the return of the "iHeartRadio Holiday Special."
This year, host Mario Lopez will welcome Kelly Clarkson, Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Hudson and Dan + Shay to the fold to discuss their favorite holiday songs. The special will broadcast on iHeartMedia stations across the country and on the iHeartRadio app 11/27 beginning at 7pm local time.
With the goal of being the #1 holiday music listening destination, iHeartMedia will play a mixture of newer Christmas hits and beloved classics from the likes of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby.
“Year after year, as the Christmas season approaches, listeners look to our stations as the holiday music destination, anticipating the return of their favorite songs, from the timeless classics like 'Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree' to Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,'" iHeartRadio's Chief Programming Officer Tom Poleman said. “Listeners around the country have really come to rely on our stations to kick off the season, these songs ignite their spirits and evoke memories, hearing the music is nostalgic.
"That’s what also makes this Holiday Special, well, so special because it’s their favorite artists sharing their personal holiday memories with their fans. After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year."
By the time the "iHeartRadio Holiday Special" rolls around, Mariah should be all thawed out and ready to go. Until then, find more information about all things iHeartRadio holidays here.
