VIVA VIVES

Among the many highlights of this year’s Latin Grammys was a full-circle moment for Person of the Year honoree Carlos Vives and WK Entertainment boss Walter Kolm. Colombian superstar Vives was Kolm’s first management client when he founded WKE, and the former’s extraordinary career has been a cornerstone of the latter’s legacy.

Vives received his honor from Alejandro Sanz and rock hitmaker Jon Bon Jovi. The stage was graced by performances by Juanes, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Juan Luis Guerra, Maria Becerra, Carin Leon, Pedro Capo, Edgar Barrera, Sebastian Yatra, Camilo and WKE artists Wisin, Emilia, Best New Artist nominees Darumas and Silvestre Dangond, who scored the Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album trophy for 2023’s ‘Ta Malo.

Seen feeling relieved to have dodged a “quick hello” from a HITS staffer are Vives (l) and Kolm.
