NO SWEATERS WERE HARMED DURING THIS PHOTO OPP

Weezer probably needed an extra hand loading out of Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on 10/11, after the band was presented with several new RIAA certification plaques for its beloved 1994 self-titled debut.

That collection, colloquially known as The Blue Album and released by DGC, was certified 5x platinum, as was its single "Say It Ain't So." "Buddy Holly" earned a 3x platinum honor, while "Undone - The Sweater Song" is now double platinum.

The Rivers Cuomo-led band performed Blue in full on its Voyage to the Blue Planet tour, which wrapped earlier this month. The album will be celebrated with a huge UMe anniversary boxed set on 11/1, one variant of which is wrapped in.. an actual sweater.

Showing off the fresh hardware are (back row) UMe VP, Media & Artist Relations Tim Plumley; UMe EVP Commerce Vince Szydlowski; Weezer's Scott Shriner, Cuomo, Brian Bell and Patrick Wilson; and UMe VP, A&R Jeff Fura. In the front: UMe Director, Audience Growth Katie Fee; UMe EVP, Media & Artist Relations Sujata Murthy; and UMe Senior Director, Marketing Ashley Slater.
