UMG LOOKS AHEAD TO °1824 INVITATIONAL

Nearly 100 of Universal Music Group’s best and brightest gathered in Santa Monica from 10/16-18 for the annual °1824 invitational, which offered a peek at the shape of things to come for the group.

The event, which brings together top execs and young employees, offered presentations and artist performances from labels and business across the group. Among those represented were Republic Records, Mercury Records, Island Records, Def Jam Recordings, Interscope Records, Capitol Records, Verve Label Group, Virgin Music Group, UMG Nashville, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe)

"The °1824 Invitational is the one time a year that we put our top executives in the same room as the future of the company," said UMG SVP of Culture Marketing and Creative Strategy Todd Goodwin (pictured above with °1824 alumni employed at Verve Label Group and below with UMG EVP / Chief People and Inclusion Officer Eric Hutcherson). "Our goal is not only to educate this important sector of our emerging workforce but learn from them as well."

Since its inception in 2019, °1824 as placed more than 100 of their part-time student employees into full-time roles at UMG and helped more than 200 students find full-time jobs across the industry upon graduation.
