SPHERE TO SPAWN IN ABU DHABI

What's better than one Sphere? How about a second iteration of the jaw-dropping Vegas venue in Abu Dhabi, announced today (10/15) by the United Arab Emirates Department of Culture and Tourism and James Dolan's Sphere Entertainment.

“The vision for Sphere has always included a global network of venues, and today’s announcement is a significant milestone toward that goal,” Dolan said. “Sphere is redefining live entertainment and extending the reach of its transformative impact. We are proud to collaborate with DCT Abu Dhabi to develop Sphere in their city.”

The partnership, which is still being finalized, will see DCT Abu Dhabi pay Sphere Entertainment an unspecified franchise initiation fee for the right to build the venue. Sphere Entertainment personnel will consult on development and construction. Once open, the facility will pay annual fees to Sphere Entertainment for the right to license "creative and artistic content."

Since opening in September 2023, the Las Vegas Sphere has hosted U2, Phish, Dead & Company and the Eagles and will close the year with EDM act Anyma.

It measures 366 feet high by 516 feet wide and its interior is equipped with a 16K-resolution wraparound LED screen measuring 160,000 sq. ft., the biggest such screen in the world with the best resolution.
