TRAVIS TAKES METLIFE WITH PLAYBOI, FUTURE

Travis Scott gave 65,000 fans an evening to remember 10/9 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, during a special show dubbed "One Night Only in UTOPIA."

Insiders say the David Stromberg-managed artist broke the venue's record for merch sales set by Taylor Swift during her 2023 Eras Tour visit. The biggest of the industry's big were out in force, including Live Nation honcho Michael Rapino, as well as New York Yankees pitching great C.C. Sabathia. Adventurous attendees could even plummet multiple stories on a carnival ride set up at the back of the stadium.

With the venue literally shaking from the collective energy, there was no shortage of musical star power on display as the rap superstar welcomed surprise guests Playboi Carti and Future—the former for "FE!N" and both artists for "Type Shit" from Future and Metro Boomin's hit album We Don't Trust You.

Earlier in the evening, Scott rapped a portion of Carti's "BACKROOMS," covered Lil Uzi Vert's "Aye" and took "Mo Bamba" for a spin with Sheck Wes, the artist who originally recorded it. He also performed "Apple Pie," from his debut studio album, Rodeo, for the first time since 2016.

Scott remains the biggest hip-hop act in the marketplace thanks to the success of his UTOPIA: Circus Maximus Tour, which shattered numerous box-office and merch records in Europe this summer. Booked internationally by WME's James Rubin and domestically by CLG's Cara Lewis, the trek next moves Down Under for six shows in Australia and New Zealand, beginning 10/17 in Sydney.

Meanwhile, Scott's UTOPIA continues to engender beaucoup Grammy chatter. Epic's Sylvia Rhone, Zeke Lewis and team are reviewing their formal wear.
