HITS presents a brand-new feature on the agents who work behind the scenes to help get your favorite tours up and running. Do they want to deal with us? We're pretty sure that's a no. But ready or not, here comes...
Josh Javor: Partner, Co-Head London Music Department, WME
Universally liked by promoters and buyers, Javor has been an international booking agent for more than 20 years, guiding a diverse range of some of the biggest artists in the world.
He joined WME a year ago from X-Ray Touring, where he learned from the late, legendary agent Steve Strange. They oversaw a roster that included Coldplay, Eminem, Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Snow Patrol, Eagles of Death Metal, Jimmy Eat World, Phoebe Bridgers, Cigarettes After Sex and Modest Mouse. When Javor left X-Ray, these artists came with him.
And now, three questions:
First concert you ever saw?
Bon Jovi/Van Halen/Ugly Kid Joe/Thunder at Wembley Stadium in 1995.
You can go back in time and see any concert. Who would you see and when?
1/3/2014, Prince at the Electric Ballroom. I’m still pissed I missed it.
Name a music or entertainment figure whom you admire and why.
Steve Strange—the greatest agent ever.
