Grita. Canta. Vota., a grassroots nonpartisan campaign dedicated to mobilizing the Latino community for long-term civic engagement through music, has announced the free, multicity music festival VOTA PALOOZA.
The effort aims to makes voting fun and easy for eligible voters while engaging those who aren't eligible to support get-out-the-vote activity.
Per The Hill, "Brothers Euler and Esau Torres, former touring musicians and founders of LENUSA, a live-entertainment agency, teamed up with nonprofit group IncludUs Fund for the campaign, which aims to reach 10 million eligible Latinos and directly register at least 100,000 new voters."
Five iterations of VOTA PALOOZA will take place in swing states (and California) in October—in Charlotte, North Carolina, Phoenix, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Visalia, California—and feature influential Latin acts like Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Banda Los Recoditos, Grupo Control and Gen Z standard-bearer Xavi, who said, "My generation is leading the cultural revolution that's elevating Mexican music on a global scale. We have a powerful voice and deep pride in our roots. Music unites us and it will mobilize my generation to vote."
